We created a mobile marine laboratory that can withstand the saltwater environment and serve as an engaging and accessible platform delivering science to and for oyster farmers (and other shellfish farmers, IMTA too). This platform enables the collection of robust data that will be used to assess the ecosystem services oyster farms provide. With this platform we maintain our rigorous laboratory standards, deliver high quality data, and do so all while interacting with oyster farmers. This project is building bridges between the aquaculture community and scientists so we can all develop a better understanding of nitrogen removal in this important, growing industry.
